Martin Pratt

It is with deep regret that I must advise you of the sad death over the weekend of Martin Pratt. Martin had been ill for some time, and was admitted to hospital for a second time three weeks ago. Martin had an operation last Friday to replace a valve in his heart but unfortunately did not recover from the operation.

Martin was probably the longest serving active member of Chester Motor Club and in my comparatively short tenure at Chester had been Treasurer (more than once), Clerk of the Course, Vice President, Environmental Scrutineer as well as an enthusiastic Competitor. He will be remembered for his larger than life outlook, always having a word for competitors and organisers alike and his consummate enthusiasm for motorsport in general. He will be sadly missed.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy on behalf of myself, and all at Chester Motor Club to all of Martins family and friends. May God be with you and comfort you in your loss.

Martin's funeral will take place on Thursday 24th July at 13:30hrs at Chester Cremetorium, Blacon Avenue, Chester. CH1 5BB. (Map ref 117/394680)
This will be followed by a Funeral Tea at the Mollington Banastre Hotel, Parkgate Road, Chester, CH1 6NN. (Map ref 117/387693)

The family have requested that mourners wishing to make charitable donations in memory of Martin, do so to either the RNLI or the British Heart Foundation.

Bob Chesters
Chairman / Clerk of the Course
